Acupuncture

History

Acupuncture is one of the oldest healing methods in the world and has its origins a few thousand years ago in China. The therapy was established, tested and refined by the Chinese over hundreds of years.

In Chinese medicine, health is considered to be the same as free energy flow (Qi). Qi flows through the meridians, or energy channels, which form a network throughout the entire body, and supply all the organs, the bodily functions, the psyche and the spirit. It is Qi that provides a harmonious balance and flowing connection between the physical and psychological processes in people.

Techniques and applications

When the flow of energy is interruped, the system gets blocked, with so-called disharmonies. Through heat treatment (moxibustion) and positioning of needles at carefully chosen acupuncture points, these disturbances can be balanced and, using the principles of holistic healing, the body can be stimulated to heal itself.

Acupuncture can be used as a healing method for almost every ailment, in particular for acute and chronic diseases like allergies, hay fever, asthma, infections, spasms of the inner organs, all types of pain, fear, claustrophobia, inability to concentrate, dizziness, stuttering, nicotine withdrawal, losing weight, etc.

Methodology

In my holistic healing practice I work with various methods of the Chinese medicine. My basic concept is the 5-elements model: the five elements correspond to the five basic energies of nature, namely, wood, fire, earth, metal and water, but these symbolize also all natural cyclical transformative processes. Chinese medicine describes how the five elements mutually strengthen as well as regulate each other in the body, and how a weakness or a blockage in one part of the system affects the rest of the system.

The philosophy of Yin and Yang as well as the TCM are part of the treatments. Yin and Yang are based on the Daosimus and the TCM, also called "Knowing of the Syndroms" has been established during the time of Mao Tsetung and is adapted to the Western forms of approach to illnesses.

Goals

With this therapeutic approach I work to resolve or possibly redirect existing disharmonies in the meridians or organs, at the same time recharging energy in other areas, as well as eliminating pathogenic substances, that is, moving them out of the body.

Diagnostics

The basis of this method is a detailed introductory interview, the anamnesis, which includes a pulse diagnosis and tongue diagnosis.
